On May 13, 2025, a special creative atmosphere reigned at the Faculty of Music and Choreography - a contest of original songs and poetry “On the Strings of the Soul!” was held. This event not only summed up the students’ mastery of the discipline “Practical Course in Performing an Original Song” (lecturer Oksana GOROJHANKINA), but at the same time became a bright platform for self-expression, exchange of ideas, and support for talented youth. A competent jury was invited to evaluate the participants’ creativity, which included: author-performer, candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor of the Department of General and Differential Psychology of Ushynsky University Yuriy CHERNOJUK; author-performer, graduate of the faculty, arranger, ex-soloist of the group “Duke Time”, teacher of solo singing at the Odesa Theater and Art Professional College Mykola KARABADZHAK; author-performer, graduate of the faculty, member of the rock band “Druzhe Muzyko”, teacher of the Odesa Educational and Rehabilitation Center “Formada” Petro VLAEV; graduate of the faculty, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor of the Department of Musical and Instrumental Training of Ushynsky University Olena NOVSKA. The insightful, sincere and original author's songs and poetry of the competition participants deeply moved the audience, touching their hearts and evoking reflections and sincere emotions. After all, author's creativity is the key to the inner world of a person, which gives the opportunity to share the most intimate.
The winners of the competition in the nomination “Author's Song for Children” were students of the faculty:
1st place – Diana Fartushna (“Merry Journey”);
2nd place – Elizaveta Shestopalova (“Favorite Season”);
3rd place – Yulia Gordeychuk (“Frozen Bunny”) and the duet consisting of Kira Chorna and Ihor Kostyak (“Best Friend”).
According to the results of the jury’s evaluation, the prizes in the “Author’s Poem” nomination were distributed as follows:
1st place – Karina Petrenko – 2nd year student of the Faculty of Arts and Graphics (“Creating a Succubus”);
2nd place – Diana Fartushna (“I Will Dream of You”);
3rd place – Kseniia Bondarenko (“Children’s Poetry”).
In the “Author’s Song” nomination, the winners were:
1st place – Oleksandra Usatiuk (“Multicolored”);
2nd place – Elizaveta Shestopalova (“You”); Kateryna Osadcha (“Invite Me for Coffee”);
3rd place – Diana Fartushna (“The Game of Love”).
The best in the nomination "Author-Composer" according to the jury's decision were:
1st place - Daniel Kirichenko ("For the Native Land");
2nd place - Elizaveta Skoba - 4th year student of the theater and professional college ("Cathedral Towers");
3rd place - Anastasia Yakovleva ("Never Again").
The winners in the “Cover Performance” category were:
1st place – Anna Vasylenko (“Day Passes, Night Passes) and the ensemble of 3rd year students (conducted by Oksana KALYUZHNA);
2nd place – Arina Semenisova (“Down by the river”) and the duet of Zhang Ludan and Gan Luo (“Those Flowers”);
3rd place – Yulia Gordiychuk (“Listen Before I Go”) and the ensemble of 2nd year students (“The City Sleeps”).
According to the jury’s decision, special prizes were awarded to the ensemble of 2nd year students for performing Ksenia Maletskaya’s song “Draw Me” and the duet of Daria Soroka and Elizaveta Stamataki.
The highest award of the competition – the Grand Prix – was awarded to Ksenia Maletskaya, a talented 2nd year student of the Faculty of Music and Choreography.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Olena REBROVA, noted the important role of the “On Strings” competition soul!” as a platform for creativity and support of young talents, thanked all participants and organizers and expressed confidence that this event will become an annual tradition of the faculty, contributing to the discovery of new names in the world of author's song and poetry.
