The pilot project of the training program for coaches, which will help specialists in the field of physical culture and sports to better carry out the rehabilitation of veterans, has been successfully completed. The project was implemented at the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine within the framework of the National Strategy for the Creation of a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, which is being implemented at the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.
The teacher of the department of gymnastics and martial arts, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports Bozhena BUKHOVETS took part in the project. She held lectures on the following topics: "The concept of trauma. Types of injuries", "Amputations and exarticulations on limbs. Complications after amputation. Types and types of upper and lower limb prostheses", "International Classification of Diseases".
During the lectures, modern approaches in the classification of combat wounds, diagnosis and distribution of injuries by degree of severity were highlighted. The consequences of amputation, the tasks of physical culture and sports rehabilitation for amputations, and the stages of the prosthesis process were discussed in detail.
World and domestic practice shows that some war veterans, after completing their own rehabilitation, the purpose of which is to restore the functional capabilities of the body, are interested in working professionally in the field of physical culture and sports rehabilitation. The high level of motivation of this category of persons creates additional arguments in favor of state support for the professional training of specialists in the field of physical culture and sports rehabilitation from among war veterans and their family members, families of dead (deceased) war veterans.
