On March 15, 2024, at the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology, on the Zoom platform, Valentina Kushnir - doktor habilitowany, Profesor Uniwersytetu im. Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, held a guest lecture "Management of the Preschool Education System in Poland" for students of the second (master's) level of education under the educational and professional program "Preschool Education. Management of a preschool education institution".
During the lecture, the students of higher education were introduced to the system of preschool education in Poland, the management structure at the state level and at the level of the educational institution. Master's students learned that there are various types of educational institutions for children aged 3-6 in Poland: preschools (przedszkole), preschool units in state educational institutions (oddział przedszkoleny w szkole bąszówjej), preschool education institutions (zespół wychowania przedszkolnego), preschool centers (punkt przedszkolny).
In Poland, pre-school education is optional for children aged 3 to 5 years and compulsory for 6-year-old children, with the aim of one-year preparation for school - zerówka.
In detail, the lecturer focused on the autonomy of the educational institution, the specifics of financing preschool education institutions, its financial autonomy, the responsibility of the head of the preschool education institution for personnel policy, etc.
During the lecture, Valentyna Kushnir focused on the key tasks and features of the content of preschool education in Poland.
The lecture ended with an invitation to a discussion on comparative management of preschool education in Poland and Ukraine: achievements and specifics.
The lecture stimulated students of higher education to deepen and enrich their knowledge of preschool education management.
