How to turn an inner critic into an ardent fan? On April 8, the students majoring in Social Work at Ushynsky University visited Odesa Pedagogical Professional College, to take part in a dynamic workshop called “Positive Thinking, Self-Esteem, and Self-Improvement.”
Initiated and skillfully conducted by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Veronika Leonova, this event brought together students from both institutions, teachers, the college administration, and respected stakeholders – Valentyna Horanska and Andrii Stakhov – around an extremely relevant topic.
How do our thoughts shape our reality? How to increase confidence and find motivation to move forward? The participants actively did the following:
• Analyzed the impact of internal dialogue on daily life and professional activities.
• Learned to “catch” and transform destructive thoughts into resourceful beliefs.
• Through practical exercises and reflections, they focused on their own achievements and strengths.
• In small groups, they honed their skills of empathetic communication and mutual support.
Thanks to the open and trusting atmosphere, the workshop turned into a real laboratory of self-discovery. The students received valuable insights and practical tools that will help them both in their studies and in their future professional activities as a social worker, where emotional stability and belief in their own strengths are key.
This meeting proved once again: sharing experiences and joint learning enrich all participants and contribute to the formation of a new generation of conscious and confident professionals.
