On May 29, 2025, as part of the “Guest Lecturer” program for applicants of all levels of the specialty C2 Political Science, an online workshop was held with a professional practitioner, a stakeholder of educational programs - Yulia CHUKHALO, a deputy of Odesa Regional Council, head of the women's deputy group “Equal Opportunities”, deputy chairman of the commission on health care and social policy.
The online workshop was held within the framework of studying the disciplines: Mandatory Component 10 “Political Analysis and Consulting” (master's degree), Mandatory Component 12 “Public Authority and Management” (master's degree), Mandatory Component 30 “Regional Studies” (bachelor's degree), Mandatory Component 8 “Regional Politics and Local Democracy” (postgraduate degree),
The event was moderated by Inna Pronoza, guarantor of the master's educational program “Political Science. Ukrainian and European Political Studies”.
During the practicum, applicants had the opportunity to learn firsthand how practical political experience is formed through involvement in public initiatives, how the transition from public activity to political participation occurs, as well as what real decision-making mechanisms are used at the regional level.
Yulia Chukhalo has many years of practical experience in the political sphere, effectively combining political activity with public and social activity, and is also actively involved in volunteer, cultural and public initiatives. Her practical activities demonstrated to students how local initiatives can become a factor in influencing public policy.
The practicum was extremely useful for students, as it combined academic knowledge with real examples from political practice, which contributes to the formation of practical skills and a better understanding of complex political processes. Such meetings strengthen the applied component of educational programs, form an understanding of professional challenges, and contribute to the training of competitive specialists.
Teachers from the Department of Political Science and Law also joined the discussion, which contributed to high-quality inter-level academic communication and practical immersion in the topic.
Involving stakeholders and practitioners in the educational process is a strategic approach that allows you to increase the effectiveness of the training of students, ensure the connection of educational goals with the real needs of society, and develop professional competencies based on relevant experience.
We sincerely thank Ms. Yulia Chukhalo for her openness to cooperation, motivation for students, and valuable guidelines for their professional development!
