On July 1-8, 2025, a group of teachers from Ukraine visited Harbin (PRC) consisting of the Head of the Department of Foreign Systems of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the Ivan Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a member of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Natalia Avsheniuk, a deputy of the Odesa Regional Council from the parliamentary faction of the political party "European Solidarity" Mykhailo Shmushkovych, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Hanna Muzychenko, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Oleksandra Popova, Dean of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology Olena Bulhakova, Head of the International Department Oleksandra Morhun, Director of Odessa Lyceum No. 38 Yana Potselueva, Director of Odesa Lyceum No. 117 Natalia Statsenko, and Chinese language teachers from the Ukrainian side. The purpose of the visit was to renew the “Teachers Group” program, which involves familiarizing Ukrainian educators with the system of preschool, secondary and higher education of the PRC and exchanging experience on the organization of the educational process in Ukraine and China on the platform of the Confucius Institute Educational and Cultural Center. On July 4, 2025, Hanna Muzychenko and Oleksandra Morhun held negotiations with the working group of an international project implemented jointly with the Institute of Foreign Studies of Harbin Engineering University. On July 5, 2025, a conference was held with representatives of the administration of Harbin Engineering University on the expansion of academic cooperation at the regional, state and international levels. Natalia Avsheniuk made proposals on the innovative content of training pedagogical personnel at universities in Europe and Asia and emphasized the powerful aspects of training future Chinese translators and sinologists at Ushynsky University. Mykhailo Shmushkovych proposed vectors of productive cooperation between Harbin Engineering University and educational institutions, as well as other institutions of the Southern region of Ukraine. The Chinese side, led by the Director of the Institute of International Cooperation Ding Xuejun, highly appreciated the intentions of the Ukrainian honored guests. On July 6, 2025, a round table was held with the Chinese team of the Confucius Institute on strengthening the language training of higher education applicants. The Director of the Confucius Institute from the Ukrainian side, Oleksandra Popova, focused on the importance of increasing the number of places for participation in scholarship programs of academic mobility for students of Ushynsky University. Chinese teachers emphasized the importance of the quality of teaching Chinese. In the new working year, guided by the results of the negotiations, the Confucius Institute at Ushynsky University intends to provide continuous support in strengthening cooperation between the two sides, expand the platform of academic exchange programs, and continue to promote constructive dialogue between the two partner universities and peoples.
