The reporting Conference of the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" at Ushynsky University was held on August 16, 2018 in Harbin Engineering University at the meeting of the Board of Partners. The results of the Center for the years 2017-2018 have been presented by the co-director of the Confucius Institute from the Ukrainian side - Olexandra Popova, the Chinese side- Ding Xin. After the report there have been a discussion of the results of the work. Among the significant achievements are the following:
- academic successes of the students of the Confucius Institute at the International Contest "The Bridge of Chinese Language" both at the national level in Ukraine and internationally - in China;
- launching training courses for Chinese volunteers working at various foreign affiliates of the Confucius Institute;
- an increase in the number of contingents of listeners who master the Chinese language, up to 2,200 people;
- holding of the IV International scientific conference "Actual problems of philology and professional training of specialists in the multicultural space";
- holding cultural events on the occasion of Independence Day of China, Confucius Institutes International Day, Chinese New Year, etc., which was attended by over 30,000 people;
- conduct national level multilingual HSK, HSKK, and YCT examinations for people from different regions;
- extension of the licensed volume of the recruitment to the master's degree in the specialty "Philology" (translation from Chinese to Ukrainian) ";
- defense of the first doctoral dissertation in Ukraine by the assistant professor of the Confucius Institute on the methodology of Chinese language teaching;
- opening in the specialized council of the specialty on the theory and methodology of Chinese language teaching;
- issue of the next issue of the international journal "Modern Vectors of Science and Education Development in China and Ukraine" (ISSN 2414-4746) ".
At the same time, perspective directions for the further development of the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" have been identified, such as:
- strengthening the scientific and methodological support of the process of mastering the Chinese language;
- preparation of the reporting conference on the activities of the Confucius Institute in Odessa;
- development of mechanisms for expanding academic mobility through various educational programs in higher education institutions of China;
- monitoring the quality of teaching the Chinese language in the branches of the Confucius Institute;
- regulation of legal documents that regulate the working conditions of the specialists of the Confucius Institute.
