On June 20, 2023, the final meeting was held online at Ushinskyi University, organized by the state institution "South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky" on the basis of the South Ukrainian Center for the Professional Development of Managers and Specialists in the Socioeconomic Field within the framework of the project "Information Security: Media Literacy in wartime conditions", which is happening thanks to a joint project between "AUP" and the international organization Internews. It implements the "Media Program in Ukraine" with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This program strengthens Ukrainian media and expands access to quality information.
The project "Information security: media literacy in wartime conditions" was carried out from May to June 2023 and included the development of two training programs ("Information literacy in wartime conditions: challenges and confrontations", "Combating disinformation and manipulation in the mass media in wartime conditions ») for scientific and pedagogical workers and all those willing. 23 events were held, the main speakers of the events were: Lyudmila Mykolaivna Marchuk, Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Chernykh and teachers of Ushynsky University, who improved their qualifications under the first program in May. A total of 924 people joined the events in May and 810 people in June.
The final meeting took place in the format of a seminar on the topic "Media literacy in wartime conditions: new challenges and resources" for participants of professional development programs and all those who are interested.
The meeting was moderated by Andrii NACHEV, PhD in Philosophy, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector of Social, Humanitarian and Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Vice-rector for Scientific work of Ushynsky University, who presented the results of the project.
Olha KOPUS, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, First Vice-Rector for Educational and Scientific-Pedagogical Work addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech, who emphasized the importance of activities that contribute to the development of media literacy skills, especially in such a difficult time for the country and its citizens. Lyudmila MARCHUK, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Ukrainian language department of Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University, summarized all the information presented at previous events and emphasized the relevance of the topic "Media literacy in wartime conditions: new challenges and resources" in today's conditions.
One of the conditions for the implementation of the project was the creation of educational videos for mastering the basic concepts of information security, Volodymyr CHERNYH, PhD in Pedagogy, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, was responsible for the creation of the video content. At the seminar, 7 videos were presented and attention was focused on those used during educational activities and leisure time.
A total of 291 participants joined the final meeting, who at the end of the event expressed their opinion and also shared their impressions of the project, told about their own stories, emphasized the necessity and relevance of such projects in modern realities, and thanked the organizers for the opportunity to improve.
