Andrii Olehovych Dobrolyubskyi was born on April 18, 1949 in Odesa in a family of scientists, recognized scientists, and professors. He graduated from the Faculty of History of Odesa University in 1971 and postgraduate studies at the Department of History of the Ancient World and the Middle Ages of OSU in 1976 under the supervision of Professor P. O. Karyshkovsky.
He worked as a researcher at the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 1976-1986, was the head of the archeology sector of the Department of Culture of the Odesa Regional Executive Committee in 1986-1989, and the head of the UNESCO-ICOM archaeological expedition in 1989-1992. In 1991, he became an honorary doctor of Erdzhii University, Kayseri (Turkey). In 2005, he received the title of Academician of the Higher School of Ukraine.
Andrii Olehovych forever left his name in Ukrainian and world archeology and a bright memory in the hearts of his friends, students and colleagues. The staff of the Ushinskyi University expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Professor A. O. Dobrolyubskyi.
