On January 31, 2025, an orientation conference for applicants of the first and second levels of higher education was held at the Department of Political Science and Law of Ushynsky University, dedicated to the issues of organizing and completing internships.
The guarantor of the educational program “Political Science. Ukrainian and European Political Studies” of the second (master's) level of higher education, Inna PRONOZA, PhD in Political Science, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and Law, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. She emphasized that practical training is an integral part of the development of future specialists, because it is through practical experience that students get the opportunity to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in the real political process. The guarantor also emphasized the importance of active cooperation of the university with stakeholders - representatives of political structures and civil society, who can contribute to the professional growth of students.
During her speech, Inna Pronoza introduced the guest of the conference – the stakeholder of the educational program of the second (master's) level of higher education, Tetyana BODUN, Secretary for International Affairs of the Green Party of Ukraine. In her address, Tetyana Bodun focused on the importance of practical training for future specialists in the field of politics, emphasizing that the modern labor market requires not only knowledge, but also practical skills and the ability to work in real conditions. She also noted the prospects for involving young political scientists in international projects and initiatives, which will contribute to their professional development.
The head of the Department of Political Science and Law, Doctor of Political Science, Professor, guarantor of the EPP "Political Science" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education - Svitlana NAUMKINA also addressed the conference participants. She emphasized that the department is constantly improving curricula and expanding opportunities for students in the field of practical training, cooperating with state, public and international organizations.
After that, Larisa CHEKMAROVA, responsible for the practical training of applicants at the department, spoke in detail about the features of organizing practice for students of the first and second levels of higher education, focusing on the requirements for its completion and the preparation of reporting documentation.
After the general part of the event, the students began work in separate conferences, according to the types of internships they are going to. The conference was held in the format of an active dialogue, which contributed to the exchange of experience and a better understanding of the needs of higher education students.
