On March 11, 2025, a landmark event took place in the library of Ushynsky University - a meeting with the President of the PanEuropean Union of Ukraine, Ihor Zhaloba, and the Head of the Paneuropa Kyiv youth movement, Olena Marchevska.
The event was held in an open, dynamic atmosphere, where students had the opportunity not only to receive useful information, but also to actively discuss the role of youth in the European integration of Ukraine.
The initiator of the participation of the students for specialty "Political Science" in the event was Inna Pronoza, the guarantor of the EPP "Political Science. Ukrainian and European Political Studies", Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Sciences and Law, who organized a group of students and accompanied them to the meeting, facilitating their active interaction with representatives of the PanEuropean Union. The participants of the event were first (bachelor's) and second (master's) level higher education students majoring in Political Science, who had the opportunity to ask questions about the possibilities of joining European youth initiatives and the prospects for creating a PanEuropean Union center in Odesa, which is the only one in southern Ukraine.
During the lively discussion, the following topics were discussed: how Ukrainian youth can contribute to the European development of the country; specific opportunities for students to participate in international youth programs; prospects for expanding the PanEuropean Union network in Ukraine.
The event was especially valuable for students of the educational program "Political Science. Ukrainian and European Political Studies", as it allowed them not only to deepen their knowledge of European political processes, but also to get acquainted in practice with the tools of public diplomacy and career development opportunities in the European space.
Participation in such events not only contributes to the professional growth of students, but also forms a new generation of active citizens capable of influencing the future of Ukraine in the European space. In conditions when our state is fighting for its place among the democratic countries of Europe, it is the youth that is becoming the key force of change. Joining European initiatives, international projects and cooperation networks opens up new opportunities for students to develop, form effective policies and strengthen Ukraine's voice in the international arena. Such events are not only discussions, but also real steps towards Ukraine's integration into the European community.
The result of the meeting was an increase in students' interest in cooperation with European organizations. Masters expressed a desire to join the youth wing of the PanEuropean Union and have already submitted applications for admission.
We wish our students success in this important initiative! May their activity, desire for change and European values help open new horizons and contribute to the common future of Ukraine and Europe!
