As part of the Week of Academic Integrity, on March 17, 2025, a webinar on the topic “Academic Integrity: Challenges of Today” was held at the Faculty of Music and Choreography for students and teachers. The speakers of the event were Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Musical Art and Choreography O.Ye. Rebrova and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Musical Art and Choreography I.O. Khmelevska. The event was actively attended by postgraduate students of specialties 014 Secondary Education (Musical Art) and 011 Educational, Pedagogical Sciences, studying under the educational and scientific program “Artistic Pedagogy of Higher Education”. The webinar began with a speech by Professor Rebrova, who emphasized that violations of academic integrity are a serious problem of modern education, which has become more acute with the use of artificial intelligence. This can negatively affect the quality of teaching and scientific research. At the same time, mastering new technologies can improve these processes, but under the condition of observing the rules of the culture of academic integrity. The speaker focused on various forms of violation of academic integrity and especially noted the importance of preventing falsification and fabrication of data. Also, O.Ye. Rebrova reminded students and academic supervisors about the possibilities of using the laboratory "Innovations of Art Education" to implement high-quality research.
Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences I.O. Khmelevska continued the topic, focusing on practical aspects of observing academic integrity in the conditions of the modern educational environment. She spoke about the main types of violations of academic integrity and types of academic plagiarism, noted the role of the teacher in the formation of academic integrity and the need to form academic writing and citation skills in students.
The webinar was held in the format of a lively discussion, where participants actively exchanged views, asked questions and shared personal experiences. All those present expressed their sincere gratitude to the speakers for an interesting, meaningful event, which made a significant contribution to strengthening the principles of academic integrity at the faculty and at the university as a whole.
