On April 4, 2025, the Faculty of Primary Education of Ushynsky University became a center of innovative educational ideas! Applicants of the first and second levels of higher education in specialty 013 Primary Education had a great opportunity to join an open guest lecture on a topical topic: "Case study of a primary school teacher with digital educational resources to motivate students to study mathematics and form social and emotional skills".
Anna Andriivna Shpeko, a postgraduate student of the Department of Preschool and Primary Education of the National University "Chernihiv Collegium" named after T. G. Shevchenko, who works under the scientific supervision of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Svitlana Ivanivna Strylets, the Dean of the Faculty of Preschool, Primary Education and Arts of the National University "Chernihiv Collegium" named after T. G. Shevchenko, shared her experience and innovative approaches. The lecturer presented a selection of digital resources with gamification elements that significantly improve students' engagement in the learning process and stimulate their cognitive activity. Of particular interest were practical demonstrations of the use of:
- the TeachMe website "MathGames", which hosts more than 20 free mathematical games;
- the Educaplay online platform, which is designed for independent creation or use of user-developed games;
- interactive boards "Miro", as a platform for planning and organizing lessons and "Gynzy" for conducting the game "Alpaca Racing", which promotes the formation of computational skills and abilities through competitions between teams;
- the DigiPuzzle website with free online games and educational tasks for children: mathematical exercises, logic games, spot the differences, tangrams and other activities;
- the Pink Cat Games platform, which offers the creation and use of bright and exciting games using existing templates.
The lecture participants unanimously supported the conclusion that gamification is a powerful tool for a modern teacher, which allows maintaining students' interest, developing their logical thinking and social skills through team interaction, while creating a positive emotional atmosphere in the classroom.
Overall, the lecture was held at a high scientific and methodological level, which was confirmed by the presence of a carefully designed presentation, interactive demonstrations and positive feedback from all those present. The students noted the practical value of the knowledge gained for their future professional activities and expressed their desire to participate in similar educational events in the future.
Such innovative lectures are an important component of the training of modern teachers who are able to implement progressive teaching methods and respond to the challenges of the digital age.
