The team of the South Ukrainian Center for Professional Development o Managers and Specialists in the Socioeconomic Sphere of Ushynsky University received a diploma for active participation in the All-Ukrainian STEM Day “On the Wings of STEM!”, which was held on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the development of STEM education in Ukraine within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Festival “STEM-Spring - 2025”, organized by the Department of STEM Education of the State Scientific Institution “Institute for Modernization of Educational Content”.
Within the framework of the implementation of the festival’s tasks, from April 21 to 25, 2025, a STEM team of professionals of Ushynsky University was formed and a program of events was determined, the themes of which included the implementation of STEM education in preschool education institutions, general secondary education institutions, higher education institutions, in the professional activities of designers and pedagogical workers. Information about the events was distributed on social networks and on the map “STEM-Day - 2025”. Namely:
- the event "STREAM/STEM" was held for students of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology, within the framework of which scientific and pedagogical workers (Olena Bulhakova, Olena Babchuk, Lyudmila Berezovska, etc.) immersed students in the interdisciplinary space of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, art and their application in working with preschool children;
- for students of the Faculty of Arts and Graphics, prof. Alla Lisohor organized an educational event "STREAM - when creativity meets technology" and STEM lectures for future designers, during which modern tools of digital design, engineering modeling and innovative teaching methods were discussed;
- for students of the Faculty of Arts and Graphics, senior prof. Olena Kolesova organized a specialized lecture "STEM activity - an innovative approach to learning" dedicated to modern educational approaches in STEM activities. During the lesson, students learned: what STEM education is and why it is an innovative approach to learning, what are the main stages of planning STEM projects. And after the theoretical part, young people immediately tried their hand at practice - creating mini-projects in which the acquired knowledge was applied.
- the Department of Innovative Technologies and Methods of Teaching Natural Sciences (Prof. Oleksandra Ordanovskaya) held an online seminar "STEM Education: Basic Principles, Concepts, Educational Trends, Methods and Technologies" for students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Informatics and Management; - the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics (Assoc. Prof. Volodymyr Chernykh) held an online seminar "STEM Education: Modern Opportunities and Advantages" for teachers of secondary education institutions;
- a team of scientific and pedagogical workers of Ushynsky University (Olena Kolesova, Alla Lisohor, Nataliya Chernenko) and graduate student Olena Soloveichuk visited Artsyz School No. 4, where they held a series of STEM master classes and motivational meetings for students in grades 8-11.
For their active participation in the organization and implementation of these events, scientific and pedagogical workers and students of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology, the Faculty of Art and Graphics, and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Informatics and Management were awarded the corresponding certificates by the State Scientific Institution "Institute for the Modernization of Educational Content".
