Training on academic integrity and AI detection at the Ushynsky University library

On September 16, the Ushynsky University library hosted a training session called “StrikePlagiarism.com for Academic Integrity: Similarity Analysis and AI Detection.”
The online event was opened by Oksana MAKSYM, Library Director, Head of the Integrity Promotion Group at Ushynsky University, emphasizing the key role of academic integrity.
Anna CHUDAK, Development Manager at plagiat.pl in Ukraine, introduced participants in detail to the updated capabilities of the system for creating Similarity Reports. Among the new features were: tools for adding comments, ready-made comment templates in tag format, and the ability to create a personal comment library. Special attention was paid to the algorithm for recognizing content created using artificial intelligence, including potential threats of its misuse, and the features of the AI report in the StrikePlagiarism.com system.
Higher education students and academic staff of Ushynsky University received valuable recommendations on the correct interpretation of text similarity reports, as well as clear explanations of the parameters for checking documents for borrowings.
The event created a platform for discussing the ethical use of digital technologies, the importance of developing a culture of academic integrity, and raising awareness in the academic environment.
