On October 1, 2025, an online lecture dedicated to the Day of Korean Writing - Hangul was held at the Educational Scientific Information and Cultural Center of the Republic of Korea at Ushynsky University.
The lecture on the topic "Korean Language through the prism of linguoculturology" was presented by Kinzhybala Oksana Serhiivna, Doctor of Philosophy and Associate Professor of the Department of Languages and Literatures of the Far East and Southeast Asia of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Students majoring in "Secondary Education (Language and Foreign Literature (Korean))" participated in the online event. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine, Mr. Park Ki-chan, Director of the Educational Korean Center in Ukraine, Mr. John-yoon Jeon, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ms. Popova Oleksandra Volodymyrivna, addressed the participants with video greetings.
During the lecture, students had the opportunity to ask questions and improve their knowledge, deepening their understanding of the Korean language and culture. Hangul is a unique writing system recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage of humanity, a symbol of the cultural identity of Korea. Ushynsky University is the only higher education institution in Eastern Europe that trains future teachers of the Korean language, opening up opportunities for students for professional growth and development in the context of Korean linguistic and cultural education in Ukraine.
