On October 16, 2025, South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky hosted a guest lecture “Micro-credentials and micro-degrees: EU approach” for administration, teachers and students. The speaker of the meeting was Ms. Veronika Vakulenko, Associate Professor Nord University Business School (Norway).

The webinar was also attended by full-time and part-time students of the second (master's) level in the specialty “A1. Educational, pedagogical sciences” (EPP “Pedagogy. Management of an educational institution”).

The topic of the webinar corresponds to the topic “State policy of integration of Ukrainian education into the European education system”, which they are currently studying within the discipline “Legal principles of management of an educational institution”.

During the webinar, Ms. Veronika spoke about the European Union's thorough approach to organizing micro-accreditations - short-term training programs that are designed to provide specific skills and competencies and lifelong learning.

The speaker also focused in detail on the main difference between the concepts of "micro-courses" and "micro-degrees"; 10 principles that are necessarily put forward for microcredit programs in the European Union countries.

The event was an opportunity to reflect on the prospects for the implementation of microcredits by higher education institutions for reforming the education system of Ukraine.
