On October 22, 2025, the Department of Ukrainian Philology and Methods of Teaching Professional Disciplines was filled with an atmosphere of lively discussions, creative ideas, and a desire for change. It was on this day that a scientific and practical event was held here - a round table "Professional Training of Teachers of Literature in European Countries: Key Aspects and Possibilities of Implementation in the Educational System of Ukraine".
The event was held in a mixed format and brought together master's students from the Faculty of History and Philology and the Faculty of Foreign Languages of both forms of study. The young scientists and teachers together sought answers to the questions: what should a modern teacher of literature be like, how to combine academic traditions with the requirements of the new time, and what from European experience can become a guideline for the renewal of Ukrainian education. During the round table discussion, the issues of professional mobility, the role of digital technologies in linguistic and didactic training, the integration of interdisciplinary approaches in the educational process and improving the quality of pedagogical education in Ukraine were discussed.
The participants actively shared their own observations, discussed the advantages of various European educational models, and participated in discussions on the prospects for implementing European experience in the domestic system of training language teachers. Among the topics that caused lively discussions:
European experience in implementing augmented reality (AR) technologies in the training of future teachers of language;
Innovative approaches to the formation of linguistic and literary competence of a future teacher;
The role of academic mobility in the professional development of teachers;
Comparative analysis of systems for training future teachers of language in Germany, France, Finland and Italy;
Digital tools for cooperative learning;
Methods for developing critical thinking in language and literature education courses and others.
The round table became a platform for exchanging ideas, inspiration and professional growth. The result of the meeting was the outline of possible directions for further research by young scientists on improving the system of training future teachers of literature in the context of European educational values.
Such events once again prove: professional training is not only about curricula and standards, but above all - communication of people who think, seek and create the future of Ukrainian education.
