Odesa Lyceum No. 117 hosted a bright and atmospheric celebration of the Chinese New Year, the most important holiday in Chinese culture. The event brought together students, teachers, parents, and honored guests on a real journey into the world of Chinese traditions.
The event was attended by honored guests: Rector of the State Institution “South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky” Andriy Vasylyovych Krasnozhon, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Hanna Vyacheslavivna Muzychenko, Co-Director of the Educational and Cultural Center “Confucius Institute” Oleksandra Volodymyrivna Popova, and Head of the International Department of Ushynsky University Oleksandra Oleksandrivna Morhun, and others.

The presentation of the educational project “Dream Journey: Discover China” dedicated to the cities of Shanghai and Chongqing aroused particular interest. After the presentation, a thematic quiz was held, during which participants were able to test their knowledge and receive prizes.
The students of grade 2-A presented mnemonic poems about the animals of the Chinese horoscope, and the real highlight of the concert was the solo number “Dance of Silk Waves” (Sī bō wǔ) performed by Victoria Unanyan, an 11-A grade student.
During the event, an exhibition of New Year cards created by students and a ceremonial award ceremony were also held. Students of grades 9–11 who successfully passed the international HSK exam in Chinese were separately recognized. Commemorative gifts were received by the youngest students who took their first steps in learning Chinese, as well as those who persistently continue to improve their knowledge.
