On March 5, 2026, an open online lecture on the topic "Harbin's History, Culture and Urban Spirit" was held at the Confucius Institute Educational and Cultural Center of Ushynsky University.

The lecture was given by Xu Hongye, a guest lecturer, a teacher at the Institute of International Cooperation of Harbin Engineering University (Harbin Engineering University, China). The event was held in English, which brought together students, teachers and everyone interested in studying Chinese culture, history and international cooperation.

During the lecture, the participants got acquainted with the main historical stages of Harbin's formation as an international city, learned about the influence of different cultures on the formation of its architecture and urban space, as well as about the cultural traditions and events that made the city famous in the world. Special attention was paid to the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival - one of the most powerful winter festivals in the world.

A separate part of the lecture was devoted to the modern development of Harbin, its role in international scientific and educational cooperation, as well as the opportunities for training and academic interaction with Harbin Engineering University.

The lecture participants had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the prospects for further cooperation between the universities, learn more about the cultural life and student environment of Harbin.

Holding such events contributes to the development of international academic dialogue, deepening knowledge about Chinese culture and expanding educational opportunities for young students.
