The Educational and Scientific Institute of Natural Sciences, Informatics and Management of Ushynsky University hosted an event dedicated to discussing projects of educational and professional programs of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education.
The event was initiated by the Department of Innovative Technologies and Methods of Teaching Natural Sciences, while representatives of the Department of Public Administration and Educational Management, the Department of Higher Mathematics and Statistics, the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, the Department of Mathematics and Methods of Teaching, the Department of Biology and Health Care, and the Department of Pedagogy participated in its organization and conduct.

The discussion was also joined by the graduates of the institute – teachers of physics, mathematics and computer science from secondary education institutions in Odesa and Odesa region, in particular Oksana Areshkina (Odesa Lyceum No. 65), Tetyana Blyudnikova (Kryzhanivka Educational Complex “Secondary School of I–III Degrees – Lyceum – Preschool Education Institution”), Natalia Burukova (Horodne Lyceum with Primary School and Gymnasium of the Horodne Village Council of Bolhrad District of Odesa Region), Tetyana Holovchenko (Rishelevsky Scientific Lyceum), Olha Donchenko (Shevchenko Secondary Education Institution No. 1 of Kiliya City Council), Oleksandr Prykhodny (Odesa Lyceum No. 38), Stanislav Chehurko (Municipal Institution “Support Institution “Kodyma Lyceum No. 1” of Kodyma City Council in Podilsky District of Odesa Region).
The event was also attended by the Heads of structural divisions of Ushynsky University, in particular, Polina Kyneva, Head of the Practice; Oleksandra Morhun, Head of the International Relations Department; Olha Halitsan, Head of the Scientific and Methodological Commission; Anatoliy Yanovsky, Head of the University Employees' Union; the representatives of the student self-government of the university and the institute, as well as higher education students.
During the welcoming speech Oleksandra Ordanovska, Director of the Institute, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, thanked the esteemed community of stakeholders for the fruitful cooperation established and welcomed the new participants who joined the discussion of educational programs. She noted the importance of interaction with representatives of the academic community, employers, heads of education management bodies, institutions of general secondary, vocational pre-higher and higher education as well as students and graduates.
Dmytro Dyachok, Head of the Department of Innovative Technologies and Teaching Methods of Natural Sciences, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, presented the draft educational and professional programs for 2026 "Secondary Education (Physics. Mathematics)" and "Secondary Education (Natural Sciences)" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education, the guarantor of the latter of which he is.
In his speech, he described the profile of the programs, the goal, the uniqueness and features of international cooperation. Attention was focused on the participation of the university and the institute in the international Erasmus+ KA2 project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education through Innovative Learning Tools (MoPED)” (No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), within which the Innovative ClassRoom (ICR) concept was developed and implemented. This made it possible to create modern educational spaces at the institute – the Hub for the Implementation of Innovative Learning Tools “ICR Ecosystem” and the Hub for Pedagogical Innovations of the NUS, which provide flexible organization of the educational process, a combination of different learning formats and the development of practical and digital competencies of the institute’s students.
Continuing the discussion of the draft educational and professional programs, Oleksandra Ordanovska, the guarantor of the educational and professional program "Secondary Education (Physics. Mathematics)" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education, presented the results of the work of the working groups on their revision and updating. It was emphasized that the changes made are aimed, firstly, at strengthening the practical training of education seekers, taking into account the proposals of stakeholders, which was reflected in an increase in the volume of production pedagogical practice and updating its content. Secondly, the formulations of individual program learning outcomes were corrected and clarified for a more transparent and clear correspondence of them to the teacher's labor functions defined in the teacher's professional standard.
A separate issue of discussion was the certification of higher education students studying in educational programs of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education specialty 014 / A4 Secondary Education (subject specialties: Secondary Education (Mathematics), Secondary Education (Informatics), Secondary Education (Physics and Astronomy), Secondary Education (Natural Sciences)). The Director of the Institute, Oleksandra Ordanovska, presented for the consideration of the participants updated approaches to the procedure, structure of certification exams and verification of the formation of professional teacher competencies in students.
In the subsequent discussion, Volodymyr Nemertsalov emphasized the importance of students and future teachers’ training to implement and ensure a safe, health-preserving and inclusive educational environment. In this regard, Oleksandra Ordanovskaya noted that the formation of relevant competencies is ensured not only during the mastering of the educational components "Life Safety" and "Inclusive Education", but also during the internship, in particular through the implementation of the task of analyzing the educational environment of the classroom taking into account the inclusivity and safety of the educational process.
Natalia Statsenko positively assessed the strengthening of practical training of students, noted the high level of training of the institute's graduates who work as mathematics teachers in the educational institution she heads, and took the initiative to create specialized classes of pedagogical orientation.
Vadym Hnatyuk noted that the institution he heads also employs graduates of the institute, confirmed the proper level of training of graduates, and at the same time emphasized the continued demand for physics and mathematics teachers.
Oksana Sakalyuk, the Head of the Department of Public Administration and Educational Management, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, focused on the urgent problem of providing educational institutions with pedagogical personnel and presented the educational program “Pedagogy. Management of Educational Institutions” of the second (master's) level (the program guarantor is Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Nataliya Chernenko), outlining its uniqueness, key features and direction, and also shared the achievements of the working group on updating the program, noting the significant contribution of stakeholders to this process.
All participants of the event had the opportunity to express their suggestions and evaluate the quality and success of the implementation of educational programs, presented projects and expressed initiatives through organized feedback through a questionnaire and through the institute's Instagram page.
