On April 2, 2026, the discussion platform "Contact & Understanding" took place - an event that became a real platform for open communication, exchange of ideas and search for common meanings in the complex modern world. The event was the result of fruitful cooperation between the Department of Philosophical and Sociological Studies and Sociocultural Practices and the Department of Political Science and Law and was held for the 1st-year students of the Faculty of History and Philology, for whom this event became not only an educational, but also deeply reflective experience.

The following participated in the organization and holding of the event:

🔹 first (bachelor's) level students of the EPP "Management of Sociocultural Activities" (Kateryna Tyushchenko, Kateryna Gura, Maria Shakina, Sofia Chaban, Valeria Horopashna);

🔹 2nd year postgraduate students – Mykola Nachev (Philosophy Department) and Serhiy Tsymbal (Political Science Department) as part of their scientific and pedagogical practice;

🔹 scientific and pedagogical staff: Prof. Oksana Petinova, Prof. Zoya Atamanyuk, Assoc. Prof. Inna Pronoza, Assoc. Prof. Kateryna Tkachenko;

🔹 members of the student scientific circles “South Ukrainian Scientific Studies”, “Guide School” and “PolitSpace UA–EU” (Sofia Lyashenko, Valeria Vorona)

📌 The platform program includes: meaningful and relevant reports; a lively discussion on the challenges of modern communication; interactive games that contributed to a better understanding of each other; an interview from Kanevska Sofia with a social worker from Berlin and Ukrainian refugees about the experience of socialization in Germany; a discussion on information wars as a barrier to understanding and the transformation of political communication in conflict situations.

“Contact & Understanding” is more than a discussion. It is a space where a culture of dialogue, critical thinking and the ability to hear others are formed. We thank all participants for their openness, sincerity and readiness for mutual understanding!
