On April 9, 2026, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine, Mr. MA Shengkun, visited Ushynsky University, accompanied by a Chinese delegation consisting of: WANG Zhengguang - Counselor-Envoy, LI Jianwei - First Secretary, WU Pengjiu - Second Secretary, ZHAN Senyao - Second Secretary, and ZHAN Zhengguo - Education Representative.

At a meeting with representatives of Ushynsky University, namely: Rector Andriy KRASNOZHON, Vice-Rector for Research Hanna MUZYCHENKO, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​Oleksandra POPOVA, Head of the International Relations Department Oleksandra MORHUN and Director of Odesa Lyceum No. 117 of the Odesa City Council, Director of the Confucius Class at Ushynsky University Natalia STATSENKO, strategic vectors for the development of partnership cooperation between China and Ukraine in the fields of education, science, culture, the social sphere and within the framework of the State Initiative of the People's Republic of China "One Belt - One Road".

The proposals for the development of mutual projects on the platform of the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" of Ushynsky University turned out to be productive. Considerable attention was paid to the quality of education and professional training of future specialists both in Ukraine and in China and to universal criteria for its evaluation.

After the ceremonial meeting with the Administration of Ushynsky University, Mr. MA Shenkun met with Chinese students studying at Ushynsky University. During the discussions on the specifics of studying for foreign students in Ukraine during the military operations, in particular in Odesa, a number of issues were raised regarding the recognition of Ukrainian diplomas in China.

Ushynsky University expresses its gratitude to the diplomatic corps of the People's Republic of China for the strong support of the intentions of the Ukrainian side and the prospects for further Sino-Ukrainian cooperation.
