August 16, 2018, the official opening of the "Ukrainian Cultural Research and Information Center of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky" was held on the basis of Harbin Engineering University. The representatives of the diplomatic missions of the Government of the People's Republic of China, university rectors and public organizations have been invited to the event. The representative delegation of scientists, teachers of various educational institutions, students in the number of 25 people have arrived from Odessa to Harbin.

The Secretary-General of the Communist Party of the Heilongjiang Province, Mr. Gu Guumin, the Rector of Ushynsky University O.Ya. Chebykin and the first vice-Rector of the Harbin Engineering University, Mr. Zhang Zhitsien, and others, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

After the ceremonial opening in the Center premises there have been held a series of meetings of academic communities to find out the areas of cooperation in the fields of culture, education and development of joint projects on the humanities and fundamental sciences.
