September 4-15, 2018, the 5th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of Recreational Psychology and Pedagogy of Childhood" was held in Odesa. The organizers of the conference were the Department of Psychology of Development and Social Communications of the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky and the pedagogical staff of "Ukrainian Children's Center " The Young Guard ".

More than 70 scientists have taken part in the conference. Among the participants of the conference were psychologists, educators, physicians, philosophers, sociologists from different cities of Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Hungary, China and other countries.
The work of the forum has been held in such areas as:
- theoretical and methodological approaches to the development of recreational psychology and pedagogy of childhood;
- actual problems of recreational pedagogy of childhood;
- psychological support for the development of a creative person in the recreational period;
- psychological support of children from the zone of combat operations and displaced persons in conditions of recreational establishments;
- features of psychological support of children in conditions of inclusion in recreational establishments;
- psychology of information safety of childhood;
- interactive educational technologies in out-of-school education;
- psychological service of children's health institutions: organization, tasks, forms of work, innovative technologies.
An active response to the invitation to participate in the scientific conference of scientists, psychologists and educators from around the world reaffirmed the status of Odesa as the leading educational and scientific center of Ukraine.
