On November 20, 2020, at Ushynsky University, on the basis of the faculties of foreign languages ​​and preschool pedagogy and psychology, a public defense of the dissertation "The formation of a subculture of future foreign language teachers in a polylingual educational environment" was held for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, specialty 015 - "Vocational Education". The dissertation was defended by O.S. Smutchenko, a lecturer at the Department of Theory and Methods of Preschool and Primary Education of Kherson State University.

The dissertation has been defended in the specialized academic board ДФ 41.053.005 of the state іnstitution "South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky". The members of the special board praised the scientific and practical significance of the dissertation and its defense by the applicant.
