October 03, 2017, the Festival of Cultures "International Communication: China-Ukraine" was held at Odessa Academic Theater of Musical Comedy named after Mikhail Vodyanoy, with the participation of the creative teams of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky and East China Normal University (Shanghai, PRC). The event was organized by the Main Office of the Confucius Institutes (Beijing, China) and the Confucius Institute Educational and Cultural Center of Ushynsky University (Odessa, Ukraine).

The participants of the Festival were warmly congratulated by the Rector of Ushynsky University, Academician Olexiy Chebykin and Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa, Ms. Zhao Xiangjun. Among the honorable guests there were the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Odessa City Council, consular offices, heads of educational institutions, regional mass media, and others.

October 3, 2017, on the basis of the department of mathematics and its methodology, a meeting of Sergiy Klimchuk was held with the trainers of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, our compatriot, who moved to New Zealand 20 years ago. S. Klimchuk S.S. is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Odessa I.Mechnikov University.

 In Odessa, he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis, spent a considerable amount of time teaching mathematics at Odessa National Economic University. Now Sergey Stepanovich works as a lecturer of mathematics at Auckland Polytechnic University.

October 03, 2017, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ukraine           Dr. Boleslava Yatvets met at the Odessa Diplomatic Club on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in Odessa with representatives of the state authorities, scientific, educational, cultural and business circles of Odessa region.

In the framework of the event, the first business meeting of the newly-appointed Head of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Odessa, Director of the Israeli Cultural Center in Odessa, First Secretary of the State of Israel Embassy in Ukraine Mrs Ilona Khilkovsky with the Rector of Ushynsky University was held. Academician Olexiy Chebykin invited a new diplomat to visit the university to discuss prospects for further cooperation.

October 1-3, 2017, a series of seminars for trainers and students concerning the participation of modern youth in public life and the building of civil society in Ukraine took place at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky. The classes were held within the framework of the implementation of the relevant international project by experienced specialists from the CIVIC-Institute for International Education (Düsseldorf, Germany, Vienna, Austria) in cooperation with the German Institute for International Relations in the field of culture of Stuttgart, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.

Sept. 30, 2017, the Odessa House of Scientists held a solemn meeting dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Education Worker of Ukraine.

At the meeting with educators, the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Stepanov Maxym Volodymyrovych presented the high state award to the staff of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky. The Honorable Diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the high achievements in ensuring the development of the national education and science, achievement of significant successes in the scientific and the educational sphere, a significant contribution to the creation of spiritual values ​​and high professionalism. On receiving the award, the rector, academician Chebykin Olexiy Yakovych on behalf of Ushynsky University thanked the leadership of the Ukrainian state for its appreciation of the team's activities.

For a significant personal contribution to the development of national education, long-term conscientious work and high professionalism, the Head of the Department of Physics of the Ushynsky University, Professor Gokhman Oleksandr Rafailovych was awarded with the Diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
