May 14-15, 2018, during the celebration of the Day of Science by the Department of Translation and Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the State Institution "South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky", Harbin University of Engineering, the section of theoretical and applied linguistics of South Scientific Center of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with the support of the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" of Ushynsky University there was held the IV International Scientific Conference "Actual Issues of Philology and Professional Preparation experts in the multicultural space" on the bases of the Odesa House of Scientists and the Educational and Cultural Center" Confucius Institute" of Ushynsky University.
May 15, 2018, at the Faculty of Philology Professor M. Kh. Humenny held an open lecture on the topic: "Modern trends in the development of scientific research in literary studies".
May 15, 2018, the lecture was conducted by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the head of the Department of Western and Oriental Languages and methods of their teaching at Ushynsky University Raisa Martynova. The event was attended by students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, English language teachers of institutions of general secondary education of Odesa.
The lecture raised a lively interest in the audience and ended with a broad discussion of the methodological problems presented and the ability to use some of the ways of solving them in the modern process of learning foreign languages.
May 14, 2018, a solemn presentation of all the scientific and pedagogical works of the department's staff, in particular monographs, textbooks and manuals, aroused interest among students and masters, was held during the celebration of the Day of Science at Ushynsky University at the Department of Biology and Foundations of Health.

The student of the Faculty of Music and Choreography of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, Maria Samulyak, class teacher Natalia Mikhailovna Tolstova, won the prestigious IX All-Ukrainian competition of solo singers named after the outstanding Ukrainian singer Oksana Petrusenko.
The competition took place from 11 to 12 May in Kherson. It was attended by students of leading music academies and pedagogical universities, singers of opera theaters and philharmonic of Kyev, Lviv, Kharkiv, Vinnitsa and other cities, representatives of foreign vocal schools.
November 9, 2017, South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky hosted a festival of talented student youth "Student Autumn-2017". In the framework of this festival students of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology took the honorable I place! The student council of the faculty expresses gratitude to the dean of the faculty T.G. Zharovtseva and the deputy dean V. O. Inzhestoykova.
In the preparation for the festival, as usual, the assistant dean for educational work A.I. Prosenyuk helped, and for this the faculty expresses a huge thanks to her. The performance was presented by various genres of arts. Talented students of the faculty demonstrated abilities in the choreographic, singing and acting areas. The theme of the performance was "Feature Colors of the Courtyards of Odessa".
Together with the students, the university lecturers of the Department of Family and Special Pedagogy and Psychology S.A. Prokofiev-Akopova and A. G. Kolesnik took an active part. The students of the faculty made many efforts to bring a good mood to the audience and guests of the festival, so they were awarded a victory.
November 8, 2017, the students of the first and second courses of the specialties "Law" and "Political Science" together with the curators of academic groups made an introductory visit to the Center for Juvenile Probation in Odesa. The students had the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the activities of the Center, but also to acquire new knowledge during business games, overhangs of films, and to see the mechanisms of practical protection of the rights of the child in Ukraine. The Department of Political Sciences and Law thanks employees of the Center for Juvenile Probation in Odesa for an interesting event.
