Every year, on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine commemorates the victims of the Holodomor of 1932–1933 and the mass artificial famines of 1921–1923 and 1946–1947. In 2023, this day falls on November 25.
This year, Ukraine will honor the victims of the Stalinist genocide for the second time in the conditions of a full-scale war, which is accompanied by genocidal actions of Russia against Ukrainians. The tragic events and crimes of the Russians demonstrate that living memory is extremely important.
On this day at 4:00 p.m., we invite you to join the National Minute of Silence, as well as the All-Ukrainian campaign "Light a Candle". Everyone who wants to can light a lamp in a house or place a lamp near a memorial or a cross in memory of the victims of the famine.
We must remember the millions of human lives that Ukraine lost as a result of the Holodomor, and understand that living memory is very important, because those who commit crimes against humanity must be condemned by the world, and the victims must be honored.

Цьогоріч Україна вдруге вшановуватиме жертв сталінського геноциду в умовах повномасштабної війни, що супроводжується геноцидними діями росії проти українців. Трагічні події та злочини росіян демонструють, що жива пам’ять надзвичайно важлива.
У цей день о 16:00 запрошуємо долучитися до Загальнонаціональної хвилини мовчання, а також до всеукраїнської акції «Запали свічку». Кожен охочий може засвітити вогник у домівці або поставити лампадку біля меморіалу чи хреста пам’яті жертв голодоморів.
Ми маємо пам’ятати про мільйони людських життів, які Україна втратила внаслідок Голодомору, та розуміти, що жива пам’ять дуже важлива, адже ті хто чинить злочини проти людства, мають бути засуджені світом, а жертви – вшановані.
