On May 24, 2024, as a continuation of the series of events of the department of Germanic philology and methods of teaching foreign languages dedicated to Science Day, an open lecture "English for academic purposes: writing a scientific article" was held. The speaker of the event – PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor I. O. Lukyanchenko paid attention to the structure and components of a scientific article, revealed the peculiarities of writing scientific articles in English, considered common mistakes and recommended how to avoid them. After the lecture, a question and answer session took place, where the participants had the opportunity to get practical advice and answers to their questions. Among the participants were students of all levels of higher education, interested in improving their skills in writing scientific articles in English. The event was also attended by teachers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Odesa Vocational School of Maritime Tourist Service.
