July 27-28, 2019 Langeron hosted the III Odesa Sand Fest. For the title of the best sand sculptor, 9 teams competed, using 35 tons of special sand. This year the festival was dedicated to marine topics. Along with experienced participants of the festival, the students of the Faculty of Arts and Graphics of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky demonstrated their talents. So, the third place in the competition was won by a team of students of 4 years studying Nina Zhukova and Maxim Smirnov with their work "Fish-whale". The senior instructor of the Department of Theory and Methods of Applied and Decorative Arts and Graphics Tetyana Stepanivna Shtykalo, who is known to the general public for her wonderful sculptures “odesa’s cats” decorating the favorite townspeople and residents of Odesa, is the creative mentor of the teams of Ushynsky University.
