On October 23, 2020 for the first time a public defense of a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy was held at Ushynsky University, the Faculty of Music and Choreography. The dissertation has been defended by a citizen of China Zhou Ye on the topic "Designing piano training of future music teachers to form the artistic and emotional experience of students", presented for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Secondary Education (subject: Music). The dissertation has been defended at a specially created by the specialized academic board 41.053.004 of the State Institution "South Ukrainian National University named after  K.D. Ushynsky". The members of the board  highly appreciated the scientific and practical significance of the dissertation and the quality of defense of all its provisions by the applicant.
