On January 20, 2021, the first meeting of the new Supervisory Board of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D.Ushynsky took place.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the University, Director of the Educational and Methodological Center for Vocational Education in Odessa region, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Tetyana Lazareva acquainted the audience with regulations, procedures, competencies, and powers of members of the governing body of Ushynsky University, changes in its composition.

The members of the Supervisory Board positively assessed the report of the Rector, Academician Olexii Yakovyvych Chebykin on the implementation of the statutory tasks of the University in 2020, as well as recommended the Rectorate to take measures to: expanding the training of specialists by licensing the specialties of the educational degree "junior bachelor", in particular in the specialties "Psychology", "Secondary education. Physical education", "Secondary education. Musical art" and others; internationalization of higher education, participation in joint research and educational projects and programs with foreign partner institutions; implementation of agreements with Ukrainian and foreign universities and institutions to promote the academic mobility of students, graduate students, research and teaching staff and university staff; strengthening cooperation with the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa Regional State Administration on the formation of a contingent of applicants for higher education through the admission of entrants by regional order; creation of an information base for scientific and methodological support of inclusive education on the basis of the university library on paper and electronic media.
