May 16, 2016 the delegation of lecturers and students of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky led by Rector Olexiy Yakovlevych Chebykin held a series of meetings with students and teachers of educational institutions of the city of Yuzhne.

During the meeting with graduates O. Chebykin said about the importance of social work of a teacher, the importance of a proper professional choice for the future, the perspectives of a teaching profession and also informed them about the history of the University and new specialties.

Creative and scientific potential of the Department of the Ukrainian and Foreign literatures of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky on May 12-13 2016 helped to organize and conduct All-Ukrainian Student Scientific Conference "Creativity of I. Franko in measurements of time". The conference program consisted of lectures and presentations, which dealt with aspects of the research world of Franko, communications cultural, linguistic and philosophical aspects of his work, poetical range of his artistic works.

May 12, 2016 the delegation of Educational and Cultural center of China "The Confucius Institute" of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D.Ushynsky consisting of the directors (O.V.Popova, Ding Xin), teachers of Chinese (Liu Jie, Lin Fan) and students (A. Tulupova, Ye. Ruban) took part in the national stage of the XV International competition "Chinese Bridge" which was held in Kharkiv.

The aim of the competition is to educate patriotic Ukrainian youth in terms of multicultural study by a foreign (Chinese) language.

The second-year student Anastasia Tulupova received the award in the category "China is far and near".

In April 2016 Scientometrics database rated SciVerse Scopus among 128 universities in Ukraine which are in this database, the University has risen compared to the last year at one place and won 33d in the following indicators: number of publications - 106; number of citations - 682; Hirsch index - 13. Among the pedagogical universities in the database SciVerse Scopus University ranks first. Congratulations to the team of scientists of the University with productive and quality work. Good luck in further research activities.

In the white hall of the Vorontsov Palace in Odessa VII Ukrainian International music competition dedicated to the memory of M.I. Spozito was held. In the nomination "Academic vocal" the title of the Second Prize Winners received the 4th year students of the Faculty of Music and Choreography Julia Yavorska and Maria Udovenko (Class of G.P. Chemenyan).

The competition for mini-grants is announced for the implementation of educational programs in the framework of the "HUMRA - stories about human rights."

The Goethe-Institut offers in 2016, as in 2014-2015, grants trips to Germany under the program "Mobility fund for young creative people", which in turn is financed from special funds of the "Eastern Partnership".
