January 14, 2017 in the museum of the library there was held an evening dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of a poet, a musician and an actor Volodymyr Vysotsky.

The creation of an inter-university laboratory "The Internet of Things" is a joint project of Ushynsky University DataArt and supported by Intel and Microsoft.

December 19, 2016 South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky was attended with a working visit by the Extraordinary and Authorized US Ambassador to Ukraine Ms. Marie Jovanovich and US diplomats.

December 16, 2016 our university joined the international relay "Light of Peace from Bethlehem." The representatives of the Ukrainian youth organization "National Scout Organization of Ukraine" visited the Department of Physical Rehabilitation, students. The fire "Light of Peace from Bethlehem" and was delivered to the faculty leadership.

For 20 years in Ukraine it has been annually held a competition "Teacher of the Year", which became a traditional holiday of pedagogical creativity. This year teachers competed for the title of "Teacher of the Year 2017" in the categories: "Biology", "Computers", "Art of Music", "Primary education".

The event took place on the 14th December 2016 with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway to Ukraine Mr. Ole T. Horpestada, acting Odessa Regional State Administration Chairman S. Bobrowska and representatives of the International Foundation for Social Adaptation (Kyiv), the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and others.

December 14, 2016 specialists of the University visited a school in Guangzhou (China) where over 1,000 students are trained, in order to select talented graduates of our university. At the end the Rector Olexiy Chebykin was photographed with prospective students from China.
