September 8, 2018, in the City Garden of Odessa, the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" celebrated the "Global Confucius Institutes Day" for the fifth time, which has been attended by students and teachers of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, teachers and students of leading educational institutions, representatives of the Chinese diaspora, the media, as well as Chinese language learners, guests and residents of South Palmyra.

In the framework of celebrating the week of physical culture and sports, the students of Ushynsky University has taken part in dance flash mobs, chess competitions, checkers, table tennis and mini-football. All-Ukrainian day of libraries is established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine from May 14, 1998, # 471/98 and is celebrated annually on September 30.

September 26, 2018, the students of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky took part in the unusual flash mob under the slogan "Ushynsky University Reads" in the framework of the events dedicated to the celebration of the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries (September 30, 2018).

September 25, 2018, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Odesa held a solemn meeting with representatives of state authorities, academic, educational, cultural and business circles of the Odesa region on the occasion of the celebration of the 69th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China and the 40th anniversary of China's policy of reform and openness.

Within the framework of the implementation of the international project of NATO SPS NanEOS "Multisensory system for rapid detection of hazardous and harmful substances", based on the center of innovative technologies of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky (the scientific leader - Professor V. V. Golovanov), the portable multisensory systems a new generation for ecological environmental monitoring, quantification of harmful emissions and pollution are being developed.
