13th International Summer School of Islamic Studies

On July 24-29, 2025, the Ukrainian Center for Islamic Studies, with the support of the Sinan Pasha Madrasah Cultural Center, held the 13th International Summer School for Islamic Studies in Istanbul. The event brought together many teachers and students from Odesa, Dnipro, Lviv, and Kyiv, representing leading higher education institutions in Ukraine.
Ushynsky University was represented by Associate Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine Oleksandr Sereda and historian Pavlo Trushchak, a third-year undergraduate student.
This year's theme is "Islam in Global and Local Dimensions: Cultural Interactions and Transformations." Participants had the opportunity to participate in the results of scientific research, discuss current challenges for Muslim communities, engage in informal communication and intercultural exchange, and visit iconic sites of Ottoman spiritual culture. A separate element of the program was an introduction to the educational, outreach and publishing activities of the Academy of Quranic Thought "Sinan Pasha", which operates at the center as an international educational platform.
We are grateful to the organizers for the implementation of important cultural and educational projects, promotion of research on relevant scientific topics, and valuable experience!
