February 20, 2019, the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky acted as co-organizer of the informational and educational event devoted to the International Day of the native language and the Year of China in Ukraine "Language of Celestial Empire in Odesa".

The students have presented the astrological prediction of the symbol of 2019 - the Year of the Yellow Pig, and also spoken about the Chinese New Year's traditions. The participants of the event with enthusiasm have joined the implementation of exercises on the drawing of characters. The visitors have been given an opportunity to get acquainted with the book illustrative exhibitions "Amazing China", "New Year in Chinese".
