On May 8, 2023, before the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, a meeting of students of Ushynsky University took place with the head of the Southern Interregional Department of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, historian and participant in the hostilities in the East of Ukraine, Serhii Gutsaliuk.

The event began with a minute of silence to honor the fallen soldiers of Ukraine during the hostilities.

Serhii Gutsalyuk together with the participants of the event considered the chronology of the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war starting from 2014. He spoke about his activities, achievements at the front and shared stories from his own life with those present. Part of the meeting took place in the format of a dialogue: a serviceman answered questions that interested the students.
We are sincerely grateful to all defenders of Ukraine for what they have done for us and continue to do today. Special thanks to Serhii Gutsaluk, who was able to join this meeting and demonstrate by his example the importance of conveying the topic of modern war to student youth.
We are proud that we had the opportunity to hear and see the patriots of our country, who were not afraid and stood up for the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of their native state!
