In the framework of celebrating the week of physical culture and sports, the students of Ushynsky University have taken part in dance flash mobs, chess competitions, checkers, table tennis and mini-football. Sports competitions have been organized by the Department of Physical Education of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Rehabilitation of Ushynsky University.
All-Ukrainian day of libraries is established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine from May 14, 1998, # 471/98 and is celebrated annually on September 30.
September 26, 2018, the students of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky took part in the unusual flash mob under the slogan "Ushynsky University Reads" in the framework of the events dedicated to the celebration of the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries (September 30, 2018).

Within the framework of the implementation of the international project of NATO SPS NanEOS "Multisensory system for rapid detection of hazardous and harmful substances", based on the center of innovative technologies of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky (the scientific leader - Professor V. V. Golovanov), the portable multisensory systems a new generation for ecological environmental monitoring, quantification of harmful emissions and pollution are being developed.

September 18-20, 2018, a conference on the implementation of the international NATO project NanEOS was held on the basis of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky. The working group of the project from Ushynsky University is headed by Professor of the Department of Physics, Head of the Center for Innovative Technologies, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences V.V. Golovanov. Foreign scientists from Brescia University (Italy), Mrs. Camilla Barrato, and Professor of Technology Engineering University of Tampere (Finland), Mykola Tkachenko, have attended the conference.
