On May 19, 2018, the Department of Theory and Methodology of Practical Psychology of the Social and Humanitarian Faculty of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky (responsible teachers Sinelnikova T.V., Pivovarchik I. M., Koval K. I.) together with the Odessa-based branch of the Ukrainian Union of Psychotherapists held a scientific and practical conference "Man and Woman". Own master classes presented by leading psychologists, addicts, psychotherapists of different directions. The submitted topics were interesting and useful for both professionals and students.

Congratulations to Tarasenko Mariya Olexandrivna 1 st year student (shortened term) of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology with the victory in the 2nd stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the field of knowledge 01 Education / Pedagogy in specialty 012 Preschool education, held on May 17-18, 2018 at H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv Pedagogical University. Maria Tarasenko took the 2nd place and became the winner in the nomination "For the high level of theoretical knowledge about the method of familiarizing children with nature". The Dean’s office expresses gratitude to the Chair of the theory and methodology of preschool education Professor A.M. Bogush, associate professor Yu.A. Rudenko (supervisor) for training and support.

One of the main activities of the department is the research work, which includes the development of a scientific theme "The research of the poetics of artistic work and issues of comparative studies", which is part of the general university scientific direction - fundamental research on the most important issues of natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. The scientific issue of the department is to study the text as an artistic issue.
In connection with this, the department organized a temporary creative team, the results of which are published monographs, manuals, and it indicates the constant increase of the scientific and methodological level of teachers. The lecturers of the department work on the study of modern literary issues.

Congratulations to the female choir Academy of the Faculty of Music and Choreography of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky and the creative leaders of the senior teacher Leysnik O. S., senior teacher Radishina S.O., the senior concertmaster Levchenko N.G. with a victory in the XXIV International Contest of Sacred Choral Music, held May 11-13, 2018 in the city of Nametovo (Slovakia). Choral groups from Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Ukraine participated in the competition. The Choir of the Ushynsky University received the Golden Diploma award as the best chorus in the nomination and cash prize. Happy and inspired members of the choir team came home, where they were greeted by students, teachers and the dean of the faculty Bilova N.K.

On the Day of Science, as well as on the occasion of the World Embroidery Day, the intellectual sciences department of political sciences and law of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky there have been conducted an intellectual game of brain-ring between the students of the first and second years of studying in the specialties "Law" and "Political science". The game consisted of three parts and included questions on the history of Ukrainian culture, the main trends in the development of Ukrainian science, world scientific discoveries and achievements, as well as on the history of the state and law of Ukraine. The team of the second year of training received the victory. Congratulations to the winners and everyone, we wish them creative inspiration and scientific achievements!

May 15, 2018, the Agreement on Cooperation was signed between Ushynsky University and the Odessa Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine.
